Feathers appear when angels are near.

white feather

A month ago a friend wrote in a Facebook comment that seeing a feather is a sign from a loved one who has passed away.  I had never heard of this and thought that it was a nice idea.  I have wished on several occasions that I would get a sign from my grandmother who died a few years ago.  I think of her often, so as I read the comment on Facebook, I said out loud, “Granny, if you’re with me, let me know”

The very next day I found a small white feather on my kitchen table.  It made me smile and think of my grandmother.  For the next two weeks I came across 4 additional feathers.  I don’t normally have feathers around the house so this struck me as odd, but each time I acknowledged my Granny’s photo with a “thank you”

I love this picture.  She was fabulous.

The day before yesterday, my sister and I were talking on the phone, telling funny stories about our grandmother.  I mentioned the feathers I had been finding and we both agreed that it was a strange coincidence.  Later that day, she left me a voice message.  Her dog had come over and sat in front of her and my sister noticed that there was something white stuck to her dog’s nose.  As she picked it off, my sister realized it was a small white feather.   When I called her back, we were both convinced that our grandmother was sending us her love.

Yesterday I called my mother who was traveling to New York for a few days.  When she answered the phone, she mentioned that she was at the cemetery visiting Grandma.  I thought it was strange that I just happen to call at this moment so I began to tell her about the feathers that I felt Granny was sending.  She thought the coincidence was remarkable too.

Last evening, my mom called and was excited to tell me that a small white feather was found earlier that afternoon during a visit to the house that my grandmother had lived in.  I’m still smiling and I am sure my mom and sister are as well.  Thank you Grandma.

Oh what a lovely heart warming tale. I have never heard of feathers as a sign from the other side either. But how lovely that this sweet comforting thing has happened to you all.

Thanks Criss! It happened again last week when my mom and I were walking to her car. There was a little white feather stuck to the door. :)

Oh wow, that is really crazy cool. This never happened before? I think your grandma is sending you much love. If it was my mum I would freak out about the feathers. I can’t even touch one. It’s a bird thing, I think I’d like scratch lottery tickets. ;) No seriously, I am glad that this event is bringing you much comfort. I hope there are many more feathers over the years to come.
